  • AMSAT-UK Space Colloquium to be Webstreamed
    The 2010 Space Colloquium - the 25th held by AMSAT-UK, is taking place on July 31 and August 1 at the Holiday Inn in Guildford, England. As usual there will be many interesting presentations and demonstrations from the developers and users of the ever increasing number of amateur radio satellites. In addition there will be talks on nano propulsion systems, solar sails, cubesat sized linear transponders, the GENSO ground station network, GNU radios and numerous other topics.

  • Amateur Satellite to Investigate Power Line Interference

  • FUNcube at UKSC 2010
    The United Kingdom Space Conference was held from 24-28 March in Godalming Surrey. This premier event always attracts a stellar cast of speakers and this year was no exception. The launch of the UK Space Agency in same week added to the excitement. Many of the presentations are available for view from the Ustream server.

  • New UK Space Agency and International Space Centre
    The United Kingdom is to get a new space agency and an International Space Innovation Centre (ISIC).

  • FUNcube pictures released
    AMSAT-UK has released images on the FUNcube website of the Command, Control and Telemetry (CCT) board being developed for the FUNcube Amateur Radio satellite.

  • FUNcube Frequencies Announced
    The AMSAT-UK FUNcube CubeSat project is intended for launch into a Low Earth Orbit (LEO). In addition to the satellite, the project includes the development of simple receivers and display software for use in schools.

  • ESEO Project - Feb 2010 - Update
    As a result of a number of changes to the configuration of the planned ESEO spacecraft, the AMSAT payload has also been updated. The latest frequency plans for operation in the amateur satellite service have now been submitted to, and accepted by, the IARU Frequency Coordination Panel.

    Colloquium - 2010 The 2010 Colloquium will follow the same format as last year, and will be held again at the Holiday Inn in Guildford.The formal programme will be held on Sat and Sun 31st Jul and 1st Aug. The presentations will start on Sat 31 Jul at 10am in the Clandon suite (same room as last year).

    Martin Sweeting - G3YJO – the Chairman of AMSAT-UK, gave the Annual Appleton Lecture to a large audience at The Institute of Engineering Technology at Savoy Place in London on Tuesday 19th January 2010. Watch a video here!

  • New Amateur Radio Satellite HO-68
    On 15 December 2009 at 0230 UTC China launched its first Amateur Radio satellite Xi Wang 1 (Hope 1) from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi province. It received an official OSCAR (Orbital Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio) designation of HO-68 six days later.
